The machine will maintain in its database all information about each vial and its content, issue a special label for that vial, which will allow the machine to identify it when re-used. Whenever a production is run calling for a medication available in an open via the machine will alert the operator and ask if he/she wants to use that open vial. The software can also keep track of the medication’s stability window once open, and will ask the operator to discard the open vial, should it not be used within that stability window
